Steps for Un-installation
Exit all the application that is using COM port, including Spytool, Port monitors.
If VeriFone Mx, PP1000 Drivers are present in the PC, it is highly recommended to use Method 1 or Method 2.
If only VeriFone Vx driver is present in the PC , use Method 3.
Method 1:
a. Select the option sequence as following,
i. In Win XP: Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs
ii. In Win 7 : Start -> Control Panel-> Under View by, select ‘Large Icons’-> Programs and Features.
iii. In Win 8 : Enter control panel in the search box, and then tap or click Control Panel.
Under View by, select Large Icons, and then tap or click Programs and features.
b. Double click on “VeriFone Vx Installer Version X.X.X.X.” for Uninstall.
Method 2:
i. Exit all the application that is using COM port.
ii. Open a command prompt.
iii. Switch to “C:Program FilesVERIFONEVx USB Driver Vx” directory.
iV. Run the following without quotes “C:Program FilesVERIFONEVx USB Driver Vxunins000.exe /silent”.

Method 3:
Use this method if and only if the following VeriFone Vx driver are present in the PC ,
a. Vx_1.0.0.30
b. Vx_1.0.0.37 B2
c. Vx_1.0.0.43 B2
d. Vx_1.0.0.43 B3
For any other VeriFone Vx driver is present in the PC , use Method 1 or Method 2.
Use the utility(Vx_UnInst_1.0.5.zip) which is packaged along with this release,
a. Go to system administrator mode/user with administrator privileges in PC.
b. Right click on the Vx_UnInst_1.0.5.bat.
c. Click on “Run as Administrator”.
For more information on the utility(Vx_UnInst_1.0.5.zip), refer Readme_Vx_UnInst_1.0.5.txt.
Note:
After un-installation, make sure the device is listed under “Other devices” in Device Manager.

B. Installation of the driver.

Installation through silent.bat is highly recommended.
Steps for installation
Method 1:
1. Download the zip file that is provided with the release.
2. Extract the contents of the zip file to any folder.
3. Now extract the contents of the zip file (Vx_1.0.0.52_B5.zip) to any folder.
4. Open a command prompt (Recommended with administrator privileges).
5. Switch to the folder which specified in step 3.
6. Run the batch file silent.bat.
7. The driver will be installed without any UI.
8. Wait for the installation to complete.
9. Connect the Vx terminal/Vx PINpad using USB and power up the terminal.
Method 2: (Only for Systems using RedSys web application(Spain))
1. Download the zip file that is provided with the release.
2. Extract the contents of the zip file to any folder.
3. Now extract the contents of the zip file (Vx_1.0.0.52_B5.zip) to any folder.
4. Open a command prompt (Recommended with administrator privileges).
5. Switch to the folder which specified in step 3.
6. Run the batch file silent_vfiTO.bat.
7. The driver will be installed without any UI.
8. Wait for the installation to complete.
9. Connect the Vx terminal/Vx PINpad using USB and power up the terminal.
Note:
1. Systems using RedSys web application(Spain), a separate installation batch file(silent_vfiTO.bat)
have been given to set the variable required to fix communication issue reported.
2. Use this batch file silent_vfiTO.bat only in the respective use case.
3. Using silent_vfiTO.bat will install to COM2,Please ensure that any physical port(COM2)present
should be disabled prior to installation of driver.

1. Amdocs case 140609-1662 : Support for WaitCommEvent() Windows API , when the device not present.
The issue is , POS application is getting stuck in a loop waiting for the event, while USB cable is unplugged.
When the USB cable is unplugged, the WaitCommEvent() Windows API returns ‘OK’ , as if there was some pending event,
but the event code is empty. The fix for this is provided in the driver , to return KO so that the application stops
polling for events, when the device is not present.
2. Amdocs case 140528-10270 :Fix is provided for resuming the communication when PC wakes up from sleep mode.

1. USB 3.0 Support :
Provided the support for the USB3XHCI device controller driver issue , where it does not give device Instance
and Friendly Name in registry . Fix is at the Co-installer level changes to read Device Instance Id and
create Friendly Name registry (using Device instance Id).
2. Provided fix for the issue that PC imaged with Vx driver installed, shows different(incorrect) com port number
in the friendly name string in device manager as compared to in advanced settings. This happens when the USB
Controller driver on the PC does not create a “SymbolicName” entry when device is plugged in.

When the Vx820 reboots or is unplugged, the COM port that is presents itself as disappears.
Any outstanding IO on this COM port does not return with an error nor can it be cancelled with CancelIO.

Junk characters appears when Comport name is read from .net application.
6. Fix for USB communication issue with Spain web application.
We have introduced a registry mode(VfiTO) to make ReadIntervalTimeout to max value so that
web application is not timed out.
Separate installation batch file(silent_vfiTO.bat) given to set the variable required to fix
communication issue with Spain web application.
7. Com port enumeration for COM2 is implemented, assuming there is no physical COM port 2 present
in the PC. If present disable COM2 and proceed with installation on COM2

The below are the instructions which needs to be followed to achieve an multi-device operations.
a. Multi device support is provided for Vx devices only (no support for Mx, PP devices yet)
b. Multi device feature can be enabled during setup using argument /multidev (as provided in the
silent_multi.bat file). Please install using silent_multi.bat file.
c. Post installation this feature can be toggled using command line tool multidev.exe (from the
installed “c:program fileVeriFoneusb driver” directory)
d. If already data-exchange happening on the any of the device (when multi device mode is enabled),
other device connection and disconnections should not be performed.
e. When Multi-device mode is enabled, data resumption feature will not be supported.

1. Driver handles unexpected reboot cases. Driver shutdown is tracked using registry entry.
If Pc is not shutdown normally, on startup, driver will clean up the previous entries.
2. Enables application on terminal side to send large data size.
3. Driver uses internal buffer for data read storage. If the buffer read is almost 80% full,
it will not place for further reads to the USB device as buffer is becoming full and wait for
application to read the data and empty this buffer. This functionality is bypassed to
over come the “USB device write freezes Vx820 terminal” problem reported.
4. VfiComTimeout function called during device disconnect scenario which caused bugcheck 0xA.
5. Debug lines to fetch the no of bytes read everytime is removed as this is suspected
to cause a bug check.
